How to Place RSS Feed Subscription Buttons on Your Site
|
Syndicating your website's contents
Syndicating one's website is getting very popular nowadays. It has become
popular that you see all these RSS Feed Subscription buttons lined up in
a webpage's template. Syndicating one's website is easy. You do not need
to learn all of XML code language. Just the framework XML tags for making
an RSS Feed is all you need to get your website syndicated in many RSS Feed
Readers or through such pages as My MSN and My Yahoo! To know how to make
an RSS Feed, just click on the orange button on the right column of this
page which has the letters XML on it. After you click, you will see the
tags used for an RSS Feed using version 2.0 of XML code. All you need to
do is just copy the entire code framework and place your own items between
the XML tags, create a file name for your RSS Feed with the file extension
.xml, and upload it to your root domain.

Placing RSS Feed Subscription Buttons in your Site or Page Template
There are many RSS Feed Aggregators that give the coding to their RSS Feed
Subscription buttons. And there are also many major websites, such as Yahoo!
and MSN, that enable the Internet reader to subscribe to RSS Feeds through
these website's My MSN page and My Yahoo! page.
Putting an orange XML button:
To place an orange XML button on your site, just use this code,
[a title="RSS 2.0" href="http://www.yoursite.com/your-rss-filename.xml"]
[span style="border:1px solid;border-color:#FC9 #630 #330 #F96;padding:0 3px;font:bold
10px verdana,sans-serif;color:#FFF;background:#F60;text-decoration:none;margin:0;"]
XML[/span][/a]
To place an Add to My Yahoo RSS button, just use this code,
[a href="http://add.my.yahoo.com/content?url=http%3A//
www.yoursite.com/your-rss-filename.xml"]
[img src="http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/my/addtomyyahoo4.gif" width="91" height="17"
border="0" align=middle alt="Add to My Yahoo!"][/a]
To place a Subscribe to NewsGator Online RSS button, just use this code,
[a href="http://www.newsgator.com/ngs/subscriber/subext.aspx?url=
http://www.yoursite.com/your-rss-filename.xml"]
[img src="http://www.newsgator.com/images/ngsub2.gif"
alt="Subscribe in NewsGator Online" border="0"][/a]
To place a Subscribe with Bloglines RSS button, just use this code,
[a href="http://www.bloglines.com/sub/
http://www.yoursite.com/your-rss-filename.xml"]
[img src="http://www.bloglines.com/images/sub_modern5.gif" border="0"
alt="Subscribe with Bloglines" /][/a]
To place an Add to My MSN RSS button, just use this code,
[a href="http://my.msn.com/addtomymsn.armx?id=rss&nt=
http://www.yoursite.com/your-rss-filename.xml/rss&ru=http://www.yoursite.com"]
[img src="/images/mymsn.gif"][/a]
With this MSN button, you need to right click on the button and "save as"
mymsn.gif in one of your folders. Then, go online and upload the button
image in your /images/ subdirectory.
Note: Don't forget to change the "[" and "]" brackets with the "<"
less than tags and the ">" greater than tags to correct the coding.
Also, change the "www.yoursite.com" with your the domain name of your
website. And change the "your-rss-filename.xml" with your own filename
for your rss feed. Remember not to forget to save the file as an XML
file, meaning putting the .xml file extension after the filename.

this way:
XML ,
, ,
,
